Branching out

Well, sorry folks. I'm still beating my head against a wall with Poser. But for some reason I decided to jump into a branch of the Unendding Addventure, and just got motivated to write.

That lasted for about a week. Now I'm just kind of drifting along with a ton of ideas in my head, and nothing satisfactory to do with them.

So, enjoy the first (and probably not last) story I have ever posted on DA, and if you ever swing by the Addventure, look us up in the NU-SRU branch.

Peace.

Rambling musings

  • Mood: High
  • Listening to: my brain go "FIZZZZZZZ!!".
  • Reading: spots before my eyes.
  • Watching: Gran Torino. Again.
  • Playing: DDO: Stormreach (come on, mod nine!)
  • Eating: Again with the eating thing?
  • Drinking: Bud.
So, as I'm sitting here marinating in Budweiser, it occurs to me that I must really piss people off.
Or freak them out. Or whatever the hell occurance it might be. I have noticed that the moment I post on a forum, the thread is either immediatly abandoned, or my post is pretty much compleatly ignored.

I would protest that I'm not complaining about this fact, but I guess I am, huh? I mean, am I really that abrasive? Does the way I say things come off the wrong way? Hell if I know. Texas Public School education here, supplimented by Navy training. I may not be smart, but I can lift heavy objects and beat you to death with em, kinda thing.

As I'm pretty sure nobody reading this gives a flying queef about my drunk drama, I have also noticed that my "art" leaves a lot to be desired. Actually, I noticed this little nugget around the first time I hit the render button in Daz Studio. So, for my next trick, I'm gonna actually spend a little time on at least on piece, with post work and the whole nine yards, just to see if I can actually put out something decent-looking. It might only have text added into the picture, I don't know, but I paid for photoshop for a reason, and I might as well get some use out of it.

And in other news, anyone who hasen't seen gran Torino yet is missing out. That old man is my fucking HERO.

New news, or something...

  • Mood: Wow!
  • Listening to: Cars driving by.
  • Reading: Elf Slayer.
  • Watching: Chocolate.
  • Playing: D&D Online.
  • Eating: Tuna samiches.
  • Drinking: Move than I ought to.
So. I found out what was happening to my PC, but not what was causing it.

As it turns out, in program files/trend micro(my anti virus)/internet security there is a folder named "temp" that had around 185 Gigs of files in it, all of differing files names and sizes. Took me an hour, just to delete them.

What was happening was, Poser was crashing due to no hard drive space. And no matter what I deleted, it was full again in minutes. So, now that folder still accumulates files, but I just have to go in there and delete them all every few days, and I'm good to go.

What this means: I'm back in action! As much as I ever was, anyway. And to test my fix, I'm putting together a gift for Blueleader. It was a request, actually, but I don't like to take requests, since it is a pain trying to get all the models and morphs needed 'just right'. This piece ain't gonna be perfect, either, but what the hey. I'm just pleased I can do SOMETHING again.

After this, I am going to try to finish the Bar TG. But that sequence has so many figures and props and such, my PC may not be up to all the rendering it will require. Still, I'm gonna try.

Well, I got Poser 7 working again, but had to totally delet it and reinstall to do so. That means all my goodies have been erased, and I'm going to have to spend around 24 hours reinstalling EVERYTHING and inputting all my presets again. This could take a while, since I don't have 24 hours to spare at the moment, but I am up and running again. Yay!

I really hate to say this, but Poser is giving me problems now. It shuts down almost as soon as I open the program. Until I get this fixed, I won't be able to work on anything, obviously. I just wanted to give you folks a heads up.

That said, as soon as it IS working, I'm going to finish the Bar TG Scene and get it up here, ASAP.

Hold tight peeps: Navy Trained Electronics Guy (prone to blowing stuff up...) is on the job!
